Meet Susan Hable

Susan Hable and her sister Katharine founded Hable Construction in 1999. Named after their Texan great-grandfather’s 20th-century road-construction business, this design company creates distinctive and functional products for everyday living, including a furniture collection with Hickory Chair, a 112-year-old, family-owned business based in North Carolina. The two entities share a commitment to honoring family history and artistic intricacy.

Susan draws inspiration from her journeys to Italy, Asia, and South America, as well as from her own garden and community, giving her work a global appeal with an intimate presence. As a true multi-disciplinary artist, she applies that perspective to all Hable products, as well as in her fine paintings and sculptures.
