Garden and outdoor living designer, Carmen Johnston of Carmen Johnston Gardens shares tips for greeting guests in style with an entryway that says, “Welcome!”
Carmen recommends adding a container garden to make a big impact. For this entry, Carmen flanked the front door with a pair of Bunny Williams Obelisk Planters that she filled with a multi-textured mix of Angyo Star fatshedera, star jasmine, variegated ivy, variegated plectranthus and asparagus fern.
In addition to mixing textures, Carmen recommends mixing metal finishes for visual interest. The planters have a dark iron finish, so she uses a lighter metal with rubbed gold Ballard Designs City Lanterns placed on the front steps.
