Create a Dreamy Garden Vignette

Garden and outdoor living designer, Carmen Johnston of Carmen Johnston Gardens creates a garden seating area with finds from Ballard Designs.

Garden and outdoor living designer, Carmen Johnston of Carmen Johnston Gardens shows how to dress up faux boxwoods and create a dreamy seating area in the garden.

First, pick the proper pot. Layer the container with lightweight bark, fill with quality soil, and make sure to drill holes at the bottom so excess water can drain. Carmen uses a pair of Rodin Square Planters with a zinc finish

Next, place a Faux Boxwood Sphere on top of the planter. Carmen uses a five-gallon bucket to adjust the height of her boxwood in the container. Dress up your boxwood by underplanting with live plants. Carmen loves Geraniums and Variegated Plectranthus for a pop of color.

After arranging the containers, flank them on each side of a garden bench. For this space, Carmen selected a Miles Redd Bermuda Bench and styled with bold outdoor pillows to complete the look and make everything feel cozy.
