Between the walnut tree growing down the street from me and all the beautiful ‘Limelight’ hydrangeas and green zinnias, summer proved to be quite lush in providing green flowers and foliage. These gorgeous spray roses (multiple small blooms per stem) added interest with their central touch of blush. The special vessel I used for this arrangement is from a dear friend from Moscow, Liza Ambrasovskaya; I think it is a perfect complement to all the colors I chose. Since it is a rather tall vase, I made sure to arrange the ingredients so the branches droop gracefully.

MATERIALS: Walnut branch, Chinese lantern, Young branch of weeping willow, Orchid, ‘Lime Cordial’ zinnia, Siam tulip, ‘Limelight’ hydrangea, Spray rose, Ranunculus

1.Place the floral frog inside your vessel and secure with floral putty. Begin with the walnut and weeping willow branches to form the structure.
2. Add the ‘Limelight’ hydrangeas.
3. Here insert the Chinese lantern.
4. Add the zinnias.
5. Add the Siam tulips. You can stop here for a simple and beautiful arrangement.
6. Add the spray roses.
7. Add the orchids.
8. As a final touch, add the ranunculus. I’m using this bunch because in addition to green it has some lovely pastel hues to match the flowers on the vase.
