Since 1991, Longue Vue House and Gardens has hosted the Essence of Style Design Symposium, featuring top speakers in the fields of design, horticulture, and art. The Longue Vue symposia serve to inspire and educate New Orleanians interested in interior and exterior design issues and raise significant funds critical to the maintenance of the treasured National Historic Landmark estate and innovative programming for children, adults, and families.
The February 2016 Symposium featured acclaimed designer and author Suzanne Rheinstein. flower magazine editor-in-chief, Margot Shaw, had the honor of introducing Suzanne to this esteemed audience. Suzanne explored the charming design featured in her new book “Rooms for Living: A Style for Today with Things from the Past.” A luncheon, silent auction, and exclusive book-signing completed this premiere event.
